Glenora Tributary -
Stream Restoration
EQR was contracted by the City of Rockville to perform stream restoration, wetland enhancement, reforestation and utility protection in Glenora Park. Crews stabilized approximately 1,755 LF of the unnamed tributary to Watts Branch. As development in the Rockville area increased, the stream became incised and erosion to the stream banks threatened private property and public infrastructure.
Stabilization along this segment of the tributary was achieved by realigning the stream channel to its historic location, re-grading the bank slopes to allow for floodplain access, and installing in-stream grade control devices to slow water velocity and reduce stress on the banks.
