EQR performs green roof maintenance of the existing green roof for the City of Rockville’s Police Annex usually three times a year.  Since this system is established the maintenance requirements are minimal. 

 

The roof is covered with sedums at approximately 95%, therefore weed seeds have little chance to become established.  Approximately 60-70% of the storm water which falls onto this roof is retained by the media and utilized by the plants.
