White Marsh -

Stream Restoration

Baltimore County selected EQR to perform a stream restoration on approximately 11,000 linear feet of the main stem of White Marsh Run and its tributaries; the largest stream restoration projects in the State of Maryland. White Marsh Stream, at the reach located directly downstream of White Marsh Mall, suffered from considerable growing bank erosion, fine sediment buildup in pools, and log and debris jams.

In addition to the management and stabilization of a stream that historically migrated laterally as much as 60 feet during rain events, the project replaced damaged sewer infrastructure, including 4 active sanitary sewer manholes and 890 LF of ductile iron pipe sewer, wetland restoration, and invasive species management. EQR managed up to 7 concurrent crews on site, including several acres of the stockpile and work in multiple locations along the stream.
