Non-Native Invasive Supervisor

The Non-Native Invasive (NNI) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of multiple invasive species management crews, ensuring all work meets EQR’s standards of excellence and client expectations. This position requires technical proficiency in herbicide application and alternative treatment methods, along with the ability to develop and implement clear, actionable technical plans and narratives.
Duties

Accurate identification of invasive and native plants of the mid-Atlantic region is a must

Must be able to obtain a Commercial Pesticide Applicator’s License with the state of Maryland and obtain reciprocity in multiple Mid-Atlantic states

Must be a leader and work with minimal supervision

A technical knowledge of herbicide application and mechanical removal techniques

Must be able to write adaptive management invasive species control plans and reports that include GIS mapping

Able to effectively communicate with project inspectors, and possess the ability to mitigate and take responsibility for issues that may arise

Must hold valid driver’s license and have the ability to obtain a DOT Motor Vehicle Certification

Must be able to drive a class 3 vehicle or larger with a trailer

Will be required to work out of town/overnight to remote jobs
Experience
-
Proven experience in ecological management, environmental science, or related fields with a focus on invasive species control.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively in outdoor settings under varying weather conditions.

Familiarity with GIS equipment.

Ability to interpret environmental regulations and ensure compliance during all project activities.

Prior experience in habitat restoration or land management projects is a plus.
