EQR's Annual Day of Service Draws Near

Every year, EQR closes down all job sites for a day and volunteers with local communities to help clean up trash accumulation in streams, remove encroaching invasive species, plant trees, and help restore the environment that we have all worked so hard to protect. Next week, EQR staff will volunteer and clean-up over 25 different sites in the MD, DC, and VA region. With over 250 employees - we plan to get a lot done.

EQR calls this annual day of service Will Bunn Day, dedicated to the memory of our former colleague and friend, Will Bunn. Since 2015, EQR has honored his memory with a full day of environmental clean-up, including trash removal, tree planting, and other restoration efforts. EQR works with a number of partners, including State Parks, environmental organizations, and non-profits to ensure we do our part to help restore the Chesapeake Bay and its many tributaries. We believe Will, who worked on over 15 different job sites at EQR, would be proud of our environmental efforts and we hope to continue and honor his memory at each site we visit.

Our 3rd Annual Will Bunn Day of Service will be this coming Friday, April 19th to coincide with Earth Day – one of EQR's favorite days of the year! This effort has taken a substantial amount of coordination - from our EQR site leaders and volunteers, EQR's management team, and of course, all of our partners who have helped us make this effort such a success each year. Keep an eye out for us next Friday! If you are interested in donating to the Will Bunn Scholarship please click here.
