SUMMARY: Provides both field and office-based managerial support and leadership to Ecological Services and Green Landing Nursery operations, ensures quality of work conducted by ES crews, maintains and develops EQR’s GIS program.

REQUIREMENTS

· Valid driver’s license

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Strong critical thinking, professionalism, and time management skills

· Proficiency in GIS technology and experience with field-based mobile applications

· Knowledge and experience of plant communities of the Mid-Atlantic United States

· Ability to read and interpret plan sets for construction and landscape installation

· Ability to provide leadership and communication to crews in the field

· Physical requirements include sitting (riding to job) (5%), standing, walking and lifting materials or equipment (95%). This position requires manual dexterity of the hands and bending, and twisting associated with heavy lifting. This position requires lifting heavy materials and equipment and often requires working outside in the elements in all seasons and weather conditions. The body senses of sight (not color blind), hearing (safety), and verbal communication is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Supporting EQR Ecological Services and Green Landing Nursery operations

    1. Preparing necessary submittals and documentation as required per project and performing associated activities.

    2. Providing support and guidance to crews in the field

    3. Training new and existing employees in various knowledge bases for Ecological Services

  2. Ensuring quality of work conducted by Ecological Services crews

    1. Warranty checks and reports

    2. Post-completion site visits

    3. Researching appropriate means and methods on an as-needed basis

    4. Maintaining certifications needed for ES activities

  3. Maintaining the EQR GIS program

    1. Creating maps for new projects in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and Field Maps

      1. i. Use GIS data (client-provided GIS, in-house survey data, publicly available data, or project plans) to create customized maps in ArcGIS Online/Field Maps for field reference

    2. Working with Ecological Services & Green Landing Nursery staff to develop new uses of GIS technology based on EQR’s needs

    3. Training all existing and new staff members in the basic functions of ArcGIS Field Maps and

    4. Maintaining EQR’s data organization and EQR’s ESRI account

    5. Working with EQR staff outside of Ecological Services on enhancing EQR’s business development using GIS
